Ivar Veermäe (born 1982 in Tallinn, lives and works in Berlin) received a BA in photography from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2009 and a MA in 2014 at Spatial Strategies department in Weissensee Kunsthochschule Berlin. He has received various scholarships: Kunstfonds Arbeitsstipendium (2021) and Neustart Scholarship (2022), Edit Russ House Media Art Grant (2014), Elsa Neumann Scholarship (2015), Gwaertler Foundation Grant (2025), Research Scholarship Berlin (2018), scholarships from the Estonian Cultural Foundation (2022, 2018, 2016).
The artist has had solo exhibitions at the Edith Russ House in Oldenburg (2015), the Galerie im Turm in Berlin (2015), Art House Tartu (2025), KKKC in Klaipeda, Lithuania (2026), Tallinn Art Hall Gallery (2018), Tallinn City Gallery (2013) in Estonia, the AV17 Gallery in Vilnius, Lithuania (2021), the Belgrade Cultural Center in Serbia (2019), among others.
